From a few skis in a run of 190 pairs back then, today our skis, jackets and films have won over 100 awards and more importantly we are shipping 24,000 skis in 2017-18 for riders in 35 countries.

NORTH AMERICAN MARKETING LEAD – BRECKENRIDGE, USA

Faction’s foundations are quality craftsmanship, innovative product design, stunning visual impact and an authenticity that is reflected in our talented team and everything we do. From that basis our experienced team not only creates industry-defining skis and outerwear, but also produces the message through award-winning videos produced in-house, a team of athletes who reflect Faction’s values and a range of events for fans and trade partners around the world. Our headquarters are in Verbier, Switzerland with offices in London and Breckenridge, Colorado. What runs throughout the team is a deep commitment to building with quality and care and remembering that the whole purpose of skiing is to have fun on the mountains with our friends.

The key challenge in the role is the breadth of experience we seek matched with a strong personality fit. Faction is dispersed but it is tight-knit and very transparent. 

Core Responsibilities 

Brand management & strategy

  • Assisting the EU team in refining consumer and trade campaigns year on year
  • Strategy development with a North American focus
  • Tactical implementation ensuring everything adheres to that core
  • Building an annual North American commercial budget and ensuring spending is within the budget in collaboration with the North American sale manager and global marketing team

Promotion and advertising

  • Paid content placement across channels
  • Advertising buying with NA media partners
  • Analytics with a strong focus on reviewing and improving
  • Creating successful partnerships, i.e., with resorts, natural partners
  • Consumer event management with clear impact (we run dozens annually)
  • Enhancing ski media relationships with support of PR agency and EU team

Compensation is fair and as we grow as a business, the compensation package has the potential to grow with it. 

The role will be based in Breckenridge, USA, however there will be annual trips to London and Verbier, Switzerland to visit our other offices and attend team weeks.

The candidate will have:

  • 5+ years experience in marketing

    SKI AND APPAREL SALES REP – MIDWEST, USA

    With sales in over 20 countries and consistent 100% year-on-year growth, award winning Faction Skis and Apparel is looking for experienced independent sales representatives with established relationships in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Upper Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

    Faction’s seven-digit marketing budget increasingly drives consumer demand and an expansive trade marketing and incentive program accelerates channel sales. The combination of skis with progressive outerwear and accessory lines adds revenue potential to same-store and additional store sales.

    Through a focus on innovative design and material research Faction has created an award-winning collection of skis and outerwear. A colab with Candide Thovex, endorsements from Olympic athletes and a disruptive approach to marketing make Faction one of the fastest growing brands in the market.

    As the face of Faction it is paramount that you have prior experience being an independent sales representative or distributor, ideally having grown a brand in your region.

    CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER – LONDON

    Reporting to: CEO and Board

    • The Faction Collective ("Faction") designs, manufactures and sells quality skis, clothing and accessories in 35 countries. We are looking for an experienced professional to manage global financial operations and join our executive team
    • The role serves as part of a tight executive team and reports to the CEO and board of directors

    Main Responsibilities

    Financial & trading control

    • Responsibility for budgets, forecasts and trading analysis, working closely with all functions of the business
    • Manage the working capital cycle of the business which includes material seasonal swings and a strong focus on both factory and institutional financing
    • Manage the controller’s consolidation of AP, AR, payroll and asset registers for three companies
    • Treasury management, including bank accounts in five countries and currency exposure across six currencies
    • Report to the tax authorities in five countries to ensure compliance
    • Manage relationships with auditors, lawyers and notaries in Switzerland, US and Canada

    Investor relations & board communications

    • In conjunction with the CEO, work to raise equity and debt as required by the business
    • Ensure compliance with EIS (HMRC SME investment scheme) and funding legislation
    • Manage the requirements venture capital and angel backers
    • A highly-functioning, sophisticated board

    Company secretary

    • Ensure accordance with shareholder agreement, articles of association and the board of directors.
    • Manage all insurance, trademarks, indemnification and legal elements of the business, especially in the US, along with all statutory filings.

    Systems

    • Manage the core ERP systems for the business – our systems are state-of-the art
    • Work with the e-commerce manager to define and implement B2B and B2C platforms

    Logistics

    • Lead the logistics strategy, including the tender process for new warehouses, challenging and reworking freight processes and reviewing the end-to-end supply chain
    • Oversee the operations manager along with the CEO

    HR

    • Lead the executive team on pay increases, bonus targets, pension contributions and stock options
    • Work with employment lawyers in three countries as required

    Requirements

    • 8 years+ proven financial management capabilities in the context of a high-growth and/or venture-backed business
    • 5 years+ PQE CIMA/ACA or similar
    • Proven ability to plan and communicate to a high standard across a business 
    • Effective communicator with all levels of the organisation
    • Deep experience with budgets, forecasting and metrics
    • Experience in multi-country financial environments – VAT, currency, regulations
    • Advanced Excel skills
    • Fluency in English essential; French language is a plus
    • Experience in logistics is a plus
    • Strong appreciation of skiing and the outdoors – you’re going to need it to balance out the intense demands of the job
