Length:

Vuarnet is the iconic French eyewear mountaineering brand, founded by Jean Vuarnet and optician Roger Pouilloux in 1957.

Jean Vuarnet, a talented French skier, won the Olympic downhill gold medal at the 1960 Squaw Valley Winter Olympics. A great lover of mountains and nature, he notably created the Avoriaz ski resort in 1966, the first French resort without cars, with an avant-garde vision of eco-responsibility.

Today, Vuarnet produces its mineral glass lenses in its own French factory, using traditional manufacturing methods unchanged since its inception. Vuarnet mineral glasses, 100% natural and recyclable, provide the best protection against sunlight sunflection thanks to LynxTM technology. Since 1957, the brand has offered timeless classic iconic frames that are still best sellers. Vuarnet embraces its roots in 1960s skiing, nostalgia for craftsmanship, and the art of living in the French mountains.

Freeride flat tail
Traditional flat tail design is built for speed, ultimate edge grip and control throughout charging turns. Brought into the modern day with a slight tail rocker, this shape is easier than ever to slash your turn into a slarve and won’t hook up in fresh conditions.

Dancer 1 review

"The colours are amazing, the top sheet is shredding so fast-very disappointing. The tech of the skis (width under foot and length) are a perfect fit for en piste. Hope to get more faction skis in the future but for the price point, needs an upgrade."

Hundreds of Days, 3rd Pair

"This is my third pair. Does that say enough? hundreds of days ripping the slopes on these skis, starting when they first came out as bright blue Dictator 1's,. . . . from over 100km on groomers arcing low angle badness, to shredding zipper lines to sending it in the park. I have loaned my skis out for test runs which typically end up with the borrower buying their own pair. This is a very technical ski, not for everyone, with great energy, agility, and rebound unlike any metal ski, and yet the satisfying grip and carve of a dual layer metal ski. Metal yes, heavy no, when they say "razor thin" sheets, you will believe "razor thin". If you are looking for somthing damp and cadilac this not the ski. If you are looking for something loose soft buttery and easy pivoting, look elsewhere. if you want a ski that will rip trench slash slarve carve that you can pump off the tails and accelerate, that is agile and nimble in a tight spot, that can properly rip moguls, that is supremely well balanced in the air, welcome to the Dancer 1. want to step up your skiing? this ski is the real thing, it will give you back everything you put into it. posers need not apply."

Great on/off piste ski for recovery.

"I usually ride the faction Prodigy 1 in 178, 80% on piste and 20% free excursions. Got the Dancer 1 after an MCL tear, so went a bit shorter at 170 instead of 178 (I’m 5’11”). These blew me away on the piste - super easy to carve and even held up better than I expected in powder. Combined with look 12 pivots and these will handle all but the powiest days. Very happy with them."

Great Performing Front Side Ski. . . love it!

"I've been skiing on Faction skis for a couple of years starting with the Dictator 1. 0, then a Dictator FG. Now I'm on the Dancer 1 and am very happy. As a Winter Park/Mary Jane skier I find the ski works every where. The ski is damp, quick, and holds on early morning frozen corduroy with tenacity. I'd recommend anyone looking for a versatile front side ski should give it a go."

A light nimble piste ski with a bit a flair

"A great carving ski for the pristine pistes in Zermatt / Cervina. Responsive, great edge hold, short snappy turns, what is not to like. Also very enjoyable in the bumps and holds it own in 10cm of fresh pow. Skiing now for 40 odd years. . . can recommend."

Happy in the mountains

"Best ski of my life! After having some heavy SL skis that I got from my older brother, I got this Dancer 1x and I'm the happiest person in the mountains! They carve amazing, are super stable and super easy to turn! I could not be happier with this purchase"

Maria (5/5)

El mejor regalo

"He comprado estos esquis para mi novia y le encantan! El único problema es que ahora tenemos que ir a esquiar mucho más y no me da la cartera!!!"

Great collab

"As an oldschool skier I love Vuarnet, it's so fun to see younger brands collabing with classics"

Maria (5/5)

Beautiful short and long radius turns

"Coming from a racing background this is the perfect ski for both GS and SL turns, and to make them in style, the color choice in immaculate!!"

Q&A

Hi, The skis are delivered with the bindings ? Or it is optional ? And choices of different types ? Kind regards
Hi Frederic, Thanks for your question! These skis do not come with bindings - they will have to be obtained separately. We recommend any standard alpine binding: Salomon Strives, Marker Griffons, or Look SPXs are all great options. Let us know if you have any other questions! Best regards, The Faction Team
