FACTION TEAM WINS BIG AT X GAMES

    Eileen X Games Medals

    EILEEN’S RECORD-BREAKING DEBUT

A new star is born, and her name is Eileen Gu. Featuring at her debut X Games, Eileen announced herself on the world stage in style, breaking records on her way to claiming a double gold in Slopestyle and Superpipe, as well as a bronze in Big Air. At just 17 years young, Eileen has already carved her name into the history books.

Landing on a podium in each event she took part in, Eileen also broke several records in the process:

    • Youngest and first rookie to win Superpipe Gold
    • First rookie to podium three times at a single X Games
    • First athlete of Chinese descent to win an X Games gold medal
The future looks bright for Eileen as she sets her sights on representing China at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.

    MATHILDE'S WORLD FIRST IN COMPETITION

Mathilde Gremaud also made history with her gold medal in Big Air. In her medal winning run, Mathilde landed a trick that’s never been done before in a women’s competition: a switch double cork 1440.

    Mathilde X Games Gold

This impressive feat marks an inflection point in the progression of the sport, with Mathilde leading as a pioneer. Mathilde’s gold in this event secured a clean sweep of gold medals for the Faction team across all the women’s events. We can’t wait to see where Mathilde’s career takes her as she continues to raise the bar of women’s freeskiing to new heights.

    ALEX HALL BIG AIR BRONZE

On the men's side, Alex Hall finished with a bronze in Big Air, also landing a trick we’d never seen him land before: a dub 16 true nose. The competition was fierce, but Alex impressed the judges with his flawless grabs to take home the bronze medal. Just finishing in a podium position in men's Big Air is a near-impossible feat at the moment, with about 12 competitors who could easily win on their day. Congratulations to Alex on this stellar performance, adding another X Games medal to his already stacked medal cabinet.
