    About Sam Anthamatten

Swiss-born and raised, Sam has spent his life in the high peaks surrounding his hometown, Zermatt. He started his career with a focus on mountaineering, earning the prestigious mountain guide qualification at age 24. Soon after, in 2011, Sam began competing on the Freeride World Tour, finishing his first season with an impressive 2nd place overall.

After hanging up his competition boots, his inspirational career has continued, embarking on a series of inspiring projects, itineraries, and film productions. Sam is always exploring far-flung places for his filming projects, from Antarctica to the Himalayas. He is known for combining his passions of skiing, climbing, and paragliding to adventure on and above the mountains he loves.

A ski that can do it all

The perfect canvas for this collaboration with a skier-mountaineer who can do it all: the Agent 3. It truly has it all; a lightweight core, progressive shape, high-tech carbon weave, balanced flex, and perfectly engineered rocker. Easy on the uphill, and equally capable in the deepest snow, the day-after-the-storm chop or the springtime corn, this ultra-versatile offering is hailed as one of the hottest touring skis on the market.

    The artist

Swiss artist, freeskier and frequent Faction collaborator Simon Charrière crafted the topsheet design for the Agent 3 Anthamatten in his characteristic hand-drawn style. When he’s not crushing couloirs and cliffs in the jagged peaks of his home resort, Simon travels around the world in search of powder and inspiration, sharing his passions through photos, illustrations, and animated films.

A dedicated environmentalist, he is heavily involved with Protect Our Winters Switzerland and his artwork has been commissioned for numerous bespoke Faction products to support their cause.
