The artistic mind behind the Prodigy Series

    Artist Collaboration Freedom to create

Parade Studio's artwork has always brought fresh, bold energy to our ski collection.

For the past 7 years, Anatole "Anat" Royer—using Parade Studio as his artistic vehicle—has worked with our team at Faction, blending his love of skiing, music, and retro-inspired aesthetics to create visuals that blend eras. Drawing inspiration from the vibrant look and feel of ’70s and ’80s entertainment emblems, his designs bring a throwback sense of character to this year’s collection.

From bringing the spirit of music to life in his designs to blending retro vibes with modern creativity, the work of Parade Studios reflects Anat's passion for timeless artistry and his dedication to crafting visuals that resonate not only across the generations that love skiing Prodigy, but to pop culture as a whole.

    The Prodigy Series

“The Prodigy is a unique model within the Faction lineup because it’s truly an iconic ski that’s been around for a long time. It’s kind of the playful toy of the range—super versatile and designed purely for having fun. As a graphic designer, my job is to tell that story. This year, we went for a vintage, entertainment-inspired vibe. You’ll see elements like a console, a joystick, and arcade equipment.

The idea behind it was to represent the mountain as a giant playground. With the Prodigy, you can just have a blast. We approached it with a complex graphic technique that delivers striking visuals both from a distance and up close. From far away, you can clearly see the main shapes and designs, and up close, it becomes a large pattern made up of subtle little details. That’s how we created this season’s Prodigy.”

    Freedom to create

“The campaign Freedom to Create really resonates with Faction’s spirit—and with skiing in general. Skiing has been completely revolutionized over the past 15 years, both technically and in its image. It’s changed in terms of communication and the role it plays in certain media today. This philosophy captures the essence of skiing and the mindset within Faction so well.

It’s been an amazing relationship, with a huge emphasis on creativity. I pretty much have free rein. There’s a lot of trust, and it goes both ways. I have so much room to develop ideas—we test things out, and sometimes they work, sometimes they don’t. But the creative freedom they give me and the whole internal process is truly rare.”

    What's next with Parade Studio?

"What’s coming next is super exciting and packed with projects. I’m launching an entire line of more mainstream products through the Parade brand, keeping that bold, offbeat spirit alive. The range will include highly accessible products as well as collaborations with brands I love. Plus, there’ll be limited-edition pieces—only 10 or 15 of each—purely design-focused and handmade in the workshop.

At the same time, I’m continuing Prose, Parade’s radio station. No ads, just music 24/7, with live shows featuring collectors. That’s the gist of what’s next!"
