The Faction crew made a splash this week at the 2021 Freeski World Championships in Aspen, with medals for Eileen Gu, Mathilde Gremaud and Alex Hall, as well as a decisive comeback from Mac Forehand. Check out the medal winning runs and read our breakdown of the action below.
EILEEN WINS BIG
The sky is the limit for 17-year-old Eileen Gu, as she follows up her staggering X Games debut with three medals at the World Championships, scooping Slopestyle Gold, Pipe Gold and Big Air Bronze.
MATHILDE TAKES SLOPESTYLE SILVER
Swiss freeski phenom Mathilde Gremaud added another medal to her collection, landing second place in the Slopestyle event, and joining teammate Eileen on the podium.
ALEX WINS SLOPESTYLE BRONZE
In the Men’s Slopestyle, Alex Hall took bronze, keeping his cool under pressure to lay down an impressive run on the last lap of the day and bagging a spot on the podium.
MAC'S COMPETITION COMEBACK
Finally, 19-year-old Mac Forehand’s impressive return to the competition circuit, stomping a switch dub 18 on his final run to claim the 4th place in the Big Air. Mac made history in 2019 by winning the prestigious Crystal Globe (the overall World Cup title) in Slopestyle at just 17 years of age but was sidelined by a season-ending knee injury soon after. We’re stoked to see Mac back on his skis and throwing down in style!
